Stage payments against surveyed progress

Not against dates in a contract. An owner's surveyor signs that the stage exists before the money moves, which protects the owner and, when a yard is honest, protects the yard too.

Your surveyor, any day, unannounced

No appointment, no escort, no areas of the hall that are being painted this week. A yard that manages access to a build is managing what you are allowed to see.

We weld our own hulls

Subcontracted hulls arrive with somebody else's tolerances and somebody else's certificates, and the fairing bill hides the difference. Ours are welded in this hall by people on our payroll.

The schedule has slack in it, declared

Eleven weeks of it, shown on the programme. Every build uses some. A programme with none is not a faster build, it is the same build with the bad news held back until month twenty.
